Professional Development Officer Guide

All the units in Group 5 are reviewing their Professional Development Program for compliance with applicable regulations.  The PDO Guide is:

1.  Lead each new member through Level I training (capmembers.com/one, submit Form 11, enter Specialty Track.

 2.  Enter a specialty track each time a duty assignment is made by 2A, PA, or online if necessary to comply with CAPR  39-2, paragraph 1-12a. 

 3.  Get copy of Certificate from members who attend conferences or complete staff assignments, update Form 45, and file in unit personnel file.

 4.  Review the Professional Development Report each month for:

     a.  Awards due - submit Form 24.

     b.  Specialty Track and rating changes needed.

     c.  Promotions and duty assignments due - coordinate with Commander and Personnel Officer.

     d.  Professional development training needed and received.

     e.  Inactive members with duty assignment.

 5.   Inform members of their status.
